New to photography?
Struggling with the numerous buttons & menu settings?
Stuck in 'auto' mode?

I offer tuition on a '1 to 1' basis in and around the County Durham area, with occasional trips to the Lake District, Scottish Highlands and the Western Isles.

This will ensure you get the benefit of a more targeted structure in areas that you may need, something that would be difficult in group sessions where everyone may be at different levels of experience.
Tuition will be hands-on, out and about using your own camera -
(which must be capable of being used in full-manual mode).
Loan kit including a range of different lenses and accessories will be available for you to use on the day should you not have your own but these are Canon-fit only.

The sensor, sensor sizes and covering area
What is Exposure?
ISO, aperture & shutter speeds and how they affect the image
White Balance
Lighting
Light meter and metering modes
Auto and Manual focus, focus points and settings

HDR and Bracketing
What are Histograms and how to use them.
Advantages of shooting RAW vs JPG
Operating the camera manually & in semi–automatic modes

Selection of lenses & various accessories - and do you need them?
Equipment care & maintenance
